London-based photographer Brock Elbank has shot 40 portraits – including a black lab named Lottie – as part of his “Vitiligo” series celebrating the beauty of the human form. And he’s not done yet.

With a goal of 60-90 portraits, Brock hopes to photograph another 20 to 30 people with vitiligo before completing the series next spring. With applications from all over the world, the series has included people with vitiligo from São Paulo, San Diego, Orlando, Kansas City and Italy – just to name a few. And the results are inspiring, especially for those participating in the shoot.

“He helped me see my skin in a new light,” said Mary Aquino, who visited London from Miami for the shoot. “Talking with him helped me to not think so negatively about myself.”

Take a look at some of the portraits so far – and consider applying to be next.

Interested in participating in Brock Elbank’s Vitiligo Series? Email vitiligo@mrelbank.com to receive an automated email reply with the details and how to apply. The series is shot in South East London and participants are responsible for travel. Anyone with vitiligo is encouraged to apply and any age, gender and ethnicity are welcome.
