The U.S. World Vitiligo Day celebration will be hosted in Tampa, Florida, in partnership with Beautifully Unblemished Vitiligo Support Group. The three-day conference includes a Friday night welcoming, a full day of speakers and workshops on Saturday concluding with a dance party, and closing remarks on Sunday morning. LittyLigo Monthly Vitiligo Community Socials serve as a vital platform for connecting Black and Brown individuals with vitiligo, fostering a sense of belonging and shared experience. These virtual gatherings through Zoom not only create a space for personal storytelling and mutual support, but also emphasize education and empowerment. Through discussions and conversations from varying perspectives, participants gain insights into managing vitiligo and advocating for themselves and others. These socials celebrate cultural diversity while reinforcing resilience, helping individuals embrace their unique journeys with confidence and pride. In this virtual environment, members forge lasting friendships and empower one another to thrive, both personally and within the broader community. A meeting for children living with vitiligo or anyone caring for someone living with vitiligo–run by parents of children with vitiligo. Nutritionist and vitiligo advocate Kay Kaur joins this month’s meeting as a guest speaker. This small and informal catch-up includes time dedicated to children, giving them a few minutes to meet virtually and even play games together. There will also be time for parents and caregivers to share their experiences and build a support network together.

With the guidance of friendly speakers, participants gain valuable insights on managing their skin condition and building self-confidence. The socials not only celebrate their unique backgrounds but also help foster friendships, encouraging each child to embrace their individuality and thrive together in a community that truly understands them. Dermatologists and vitiligo specialists Dr. Pearl Grimes and Dr. Nada Elbuluk will lead this vitiligo support group in Los Angeles. This group for those living with vitiligo and their families aims to provide a safe and supportive space for sharing about living with the condition. The meeting’s agenda includes a talk from Dr. Elbuluk on complementary therapies for vitiligo, and updates on vitiligo news like this year’s WVD-USA event and the recent AAD conference from Dr. Grimes. A patient will also share their story about living with vitiligo, and the session will close with time for a Q&A with Drs. Grimes and Elbuluk.

This event offers families navigating life with vitiligo together a chance to connect in person with other families living the same experience–and have some fun together, too.
