Introducing “Beautiful Both Ways,” the World’s First Vitiligo-Centric Festival

Representation. Joy. Empowerment. These are the driving forces behind Beautiful Both Ways: A Celebration of You—the world’s first-ever festival created specifically for the vitiligo community. Held in Stoughton, Massachusetts, on August 10th, 2025, this groundbreaking event celebrates visible difference while fostering joy, creativity, and self-expression in an unforgettable, inclusive space. From the runway to the roller rink, this one-of-a-kind gathering is set to uplift, inspire, and unite attendees of all ages and backgrounds.

A festival rooted in culture, confidence, and community

Beautiful Both Ways isn’t just an event—it’s a movement. Designed to spotlight the beauty of difference, this festival combines elements of art, wellness, and culture in a day packed with immersive experiences. It’s a chance to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Whether you’re walking the runway, sharing your story on a panel, or skating alongside new friends, you’ll find moments that affirm your unique beauty and identity. The heart of this festival lies in cultural pride and community connection, making it a healing and joyful space for all who attend.

“When I started my vitiligo journey, support groups weren’t my thing but I longed for connection so I found solace in art, sports, and most importantly, community,” said Sharon King, the founder of Litty Ligo, the nonprofit organization and vitiligo support group hosting the event. “My hope is that this festival gives those with vitiligo that same sense of belonging, joy, and freedom to express themselves without judgment.”

Founded in 2017, Litty Ligo has become a thriving support community for those with vitiligo in Boston, Massachusetts. Today, the organization offers countless programs designed to help individuals get connected and find the inspiration and support they need to live confidently.

Litty Ligo initially launched the Beautiful Both Ways campaign on social media, with a call for community members to share side-by-side photos of themselves: one that showed their vitiligo, and one that didn’t. It was a project that resonated with many in the vitiligo community, and users submitted photos by the dozens. Some chose to depict their skin before vitiligo and after; others sent in portraits of their vitiligo camouflaged and makeup-free. Now the organization is turning that virtual campaign into an IRL event of connection and empowerment (and will also be producing a coffee table book of those photos).
