Everything You Need to Know About World Vitiligo Day-USA 2025 (With Winnie Harlow)

The 2025 U.S. celebration of World Vitiligo Day—officially designated as June 25th—will take place June 24-29 in Tampa, Florida. (See you there!) And yes, with a special celebrity guest: Winnie Harlow.
Celebrated annually around the world, World Vitiligo Day was established to promote global awareness of vitiligo, provide support for those living with the condition, educate healthcare providers about its care and treatment, and raise funds for research efforts. In the years since it was first observed (in 2011), World Vitiligo Day—also known as WVD—has become a worldwide phenomenon. It’s a day to honor those living with vitiligo (and fellow advocates and caregivers) and their experiences with the condition.
The U.S. annual event includes two key events: Camp Victory, a camp for children with vitiligo and their parent, and World Vitiligo Day-USA, a weekend conference for those with vitiligo and their families featuring workshops, medical updates and social hours.
Most recently, the Global Vitiligo Foundation announced that Winnie Harlow, one of the most iconic and famous people living with vitiligo today, will also be in attendance at the World Vitiligo Day-USA Fireside Chat on Saturday, June 28th, for an “unforgettable conversation” celebrating visibility, empowerment and community. A supermodel who has graced the covers of fashion magazines and was named one of Forbes’ ‘30 Under 30,’ she’s also a trailblazer for inclusivity and self-acceptance.
Here’s what you need to know about this year’s conference.
World Vitiligo Day-USA Conference | June 27-29th
This year’s WVD-USA event is hosted by Florida-based Beautifully Unblemished Vitiligo Support Group in partnership with the Global Vitiligo Foundation. The conference will be held at Hilton Tampa Downtown in Tampa, Florida. Registration is currently open and a group rate for conference attendees is available. Registration for the conference and hotel reservations are now open.
The 2025 theme, “Beyond the Surface: Redefining Vitiligo,” will emphasize a message of looking past what meets the eye to access the strength, inner beauty and resilience within. The weekend kicks off with a welcome from local Tampa officials. A group drum circle will close out Friday evening with an interactive experience designed to promote connection, unity and fun.
Saturday’s programming will include an uplifting message from speaker Karlowba Adams Powell. A passionate advocate and motivator, Powell will focus this session on empowering attendees to embrace their vitiligo and live courageously. Breakout sessions, small support groups and a documentary screening will fill out Saturday’s schedule before the day wraps up in style with a Cuban-themed gala. A tropical dress code (think fedoras and island florals) is encouraged for “Havana Nights,” an evening of music, dancing and festivity.
The program concludes Sunday midday with closing messages and a special butterfly release.
Camp Victory for Kids | June 24-26th
Camp Victory, WVD-USA’s sister conference for kids living with vitiligo, launched in 2024 and returns this year June 24-26th. Aimed at fostering a community that both understands the challenges of living with vitiligo and celebrates the resilience and strength of those with the condition, Camp Victory is open to kids ages 5 to 15 (along with a parent or guardian). Camp Victory features group sessions led by trained psychologists, fun excursions to area attractions and evening activities geared for kids.
The program takes place at the Hyatt Place Tampa Downtown, and guests are encouraged to register for both conferences and stay for the entire weekend. Applications for Camp Victory closed March 19th.
