Important Guidelines

Your health and safety is important to us. To protect Living Dappled, our resident dermatology expert and our community, the following guidelines apply:

  1. This is education, not medical care

The information shared is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from your own healthcare provider. Dr. Heather’s answers are meant to help you better understand vitiligo—not replace a visit with your doctor.

  1. No personal diagnoses

Because Dr. Heather cannot examine you, review your medical history, or see your skin in person, she cannot: diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, or adjust your current treatment plan. Questions should be general in nature. For example: “Is X a common side effect?” or “What are the treatment options for…?”

  1. We can’t review photos or give case-specific advice

For your safety and privacy, Dr. Heather will not review: photos of your skin, lab results, biopsy reports, or medical records. If you’re experiencing something urgent, new, or concerning, we always recommend contacting your own dermatologist or healthcare provider.

  1. Answers may be edited for clarity

To protect privacy and make answers helpful to the whole community, submitted questions may be lightly edited for clarity, length, or tone before being published.

  1. Your privacy matters

You may submit questions anonymously. If you choose to include your name, you give Living Dappled permission to share it alongside your question and Dr. Heather’s response.

  1. We reserve the right not to answer

Some questions may not be selected if they: are too medically specific, include identifying personal health details, and ask for diagnoses, prescriptions, or emergency guidance. This helps ensure this program stays safe, helpful, and accessible to everyone.

All questions must be related to vitiligo. Please expect a minimum of a two-week response time.
